Any advice??

We're beginning our planning for "the move".

If anyone has any experience with movers, good or bad, please let us know! ESPECIALLY if you have GOOD experiences.... so far, it seems like I've only heard nightmares. Hopefully, someone liked their movers.... I really don't want a headache.

THANKS!

Hey there, our computer is up and running as you can see! So now I can catch up on what I missed!

    Here's my advice:

We did it ourselves. We rented a truck from U-hall and on the 31st: Chris, his friend Andy, his Dad and me loaded the boxes and transfered most of them to the new house. Next day, same thing except another of my husbands friends helped us. We got it all done within a few days! All we have to do now is unpack and put everything where it belongs. And the best thing: Nothing was broken or lost because, we did it ourselves. I suggest the same unless, you don't have anyone to help then I would wish for Fate or Luck to step in because, you are suppose to rent professional movers at least a month in advance. The longer you wait, the less chance there will be any movers or trucks available. We almost did not get a truck but, Luck shined on us and gave us what we needed. Anyways, best wishes and enjoy your new home!! Back to unpacking for me!!!! ;)!

You obviously have not seen how much stuff we have. :-)

Yeah, no, we're NOT doing it ourselves this time... We did that LAST time and it was a disaster--we were at our old place at 3 am the day after our lease ended, trying to get the remains of the items out in time...

Nope, not an option to do it ourselves. We have 60 days to move, so plenty of time to book someone. It's worth the extra expense to get someone else to do in hours what would take us days to do.

But thanks for the advice! :-)

Purging a lot of stuff helps as well. I forgot to add that in. If I were you..I would get on the phone ASAP and start calling movers and reserve a day(s) and time(s) or else you will be stuck. At least you are sure of the moving date (we weren't due to some 'hiccups' in the finalization) so, I would work with that and get going. Like I said...the longer you wait the less chance there will be that trucks and movers are available to transfer your stuff. Let me know how it goes. Again, good luck and best wishes. Take Care, Ali. ;)
