
I came across this article while perusing through Yahoo! Health. Yeah, it's a "Men's Health" article, but I've eaten many of the items on the list, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Basically, it takes some traditional "fast food" options that we may run to, and shows you the healthier alternative (which is an odd word to use once you see the options listed.)
Case in point? Instead of getting a Whopper from Burger King, order the Big Mac from McDonald's. The extra patty in the Big Mac is still leaner than the mayo they slather on the Whopper. Crazy huh? And my favorite?? Guiness is better for you than Sierra Nevada beer--despite it's almost "chewable" texture, it's on par, calorie wise, with most light beers.
(and a must drink for women late in their pregnancies in many parts of Europe.... hmm...)
It's an interesting read, so check it out. Maybe next time you've gotta eat on the run, you can breathe easy knowing you made the healthier choice (even if it is all bad for you.)
And before you go out for a thirst quenching beverage this summer, check out this list of the worst drinks in America. Thankfully, none of my favs are on it (though I think Jeremy may have recently consumed THE worst drink in America... whoops. Face it... nothing good comes out of Baskin Robbins, so best to just avoid them completely.)
Man... for some reason now... I could really go for a Big Mac...
