We had our 34 week appt yesterday with the midwives. It went just fine, though I'm still measuring big (your 'fundal height' should roughly correspond with the number of weeks you are--34 weeks should measure about 34 cm, etc.) I measured around 39 weeks, which means he's either big, ahead of schedule, sitting high, or our dates are off (like, maybe we're 36 or 37 weeks, instead of 34). I'm pretty sure my math is right, as far as when we got preggers, so I think he's just a big boy. Hopefully not too big... That won't make for good times when it comes time to push. But, eh, whatever.
What got me thinkin' a bit about this more than what I usually do was when another midwife asked when we were due. I told her Jan 7, and her eyes got pretty big... I guess I'm, as my Dad would say, 'Yuge!' :-) Hey, as long as he's happy and healthy in there... I guess I'll endure. I have a feelin', though, if I were to go into labor sometime around 36 weeks, they would let me go with it.
Should be an interesting next couple of weeks.... :-)
So, if you're measuring 39 weeks, how much does that mean he probably weighs? It would be so exciting if he came early!
ReplyDeleteOh goodness, I have no idea. I have no doubt he's a bit bigger than the 'average baby', but how much, we'll have to wait and see. Those measurments are pretty subjective... So to be off by a cm or two is likely.
ReplyDeleteI hope he comes early... Well, earlier (I wouldn't mind if he was here before Christmas... then Jeremy's parents would have maximum grandchild time!) We'll see.
