Wow.... That's all I can say.
Maybe the worriers should call up their restaurant friends in Europe, where many countries already outlaw trans fats. They seem to have adjusted well.
And I hope this spreads to the rest of the country! It certainly can't hurt--if it makes foods more expensive, then we won't buy them.... Or maybe we still will, and then just complain about it, like the whole gas thing...
"Meh, stupid government is letting the oil companies make millions of dollars while I have to pay $2.50/gallon of gas in my fancy new SUV. MEEEEEHHHHH! WAAAAAHHHHH! It's a conspiracy, a conspiracy, I say!"
Guess it's just a different kind of oil that's under scrutiny now.
