Doomed to stretch marks...

Well, so much for that! The Palmers Tummy Butter that I was so excited about is about as helpful to me as poison ivy. Yes, that's right, I broke out in an itchy, annoying rash all over my belly.... Guess that whole, "Your skin may be more sensitive during pregnancy, " bit is entirely true. :( What a way to end a 'great' week.

So it's back to regular old Aveeno. I guess I won't worry about the "stretch mark do's and don't's", which include, 'If your stomach is itchy, DON'T SCRATCH IT! This will only help stretch out the skin more, and make stretch marks more noticible. ' I've resounded myself to the fact that I will have stretch marks, and will probably always have stretch marks, as this is not going to be the only child we have (God willing, of course). So gosh darnit, if my belly is itchy, I'm gonna scratch it! Jeremy's married a walking roadmap! He says he still loves me anyways. (Awww....)

We have scheduled an ultrasound, though! That's good. And bad. The bad is that because I'm out of town next week (in Vegas for work), I have to wait until the following monday to have it done. So no baby news (genderly speaking) until after 2 pm on Monday, August 21st. :( It'll fly by (of course, I'll literally be 'flying' by, spending almost 10 hours in airports and on planes. Booooo.... And of the freaking times for a stupid terrorist attack to be spoiled--right before I fly! Guess there's no reason to pack lightly, now... Gonna hafta check it anyways! Bring out the big suitcase!)

Okay. Time for work (last day! Yay!)

Just think of stretch marks as being like the decorations military people get for the various campaigns they've been on. Wear them with pride: we salute you, mama!

Where are you going Aug. 21??

    Ted,

I've decided to do just that--wear them with pride. Because that's really my only option.... Being down 'bout it, and waiting for them to disappear will not make them go away or appear any less severe. So BRING IT ON! :-)

If that's the worse thing I have to deal with during this pregnancy, then I am a LUCKY and BLESSED gal!
