Still in Vegas

Hello everyone!

Blah. I'm still in Vegas. Don't get me wrong, it's been a good time, but I am READY to come home. Absolutely. I've had the pleasure of "walking the strip" and being brainwashed by all the Sony folks here (not a bad thing, but I certainly do feel 'brainwashed'.) We got our new laptops yesterday, though this is the first time I've actually had a chance to get online with it, since the hotel wants to charge $11 for wifi in the rooms... I waited until the PC clinic today, and set up shop outside the conference room. Don't know when I'll be kicked off, but hopefully this will post before I do.

The new laptops are pretty sweet--bigger, but not huge, lighter, brighter, and much FASTER! This thing is about twice as fast as our old, crappy Fujitsus (may it rest in peace...), with a gig of ram, and a 6-8 hour battery life (more than enough for a day in the field!) People are already complaining, though, because it doesn't have a touch screen (the old ones did, though I never used it) and doesn't "auto-sleep" when the cover is closed (I'm sure I can change that setting).
Whatever, though! I'm thrilled! I like it a lot! So I'm happy.

It's been an up-and-down week for me... I was doing alright, until I was in line for the bathroom Tuesday (for the up-tenth time) and there was another preggers gal in front of me (she's due 3 days after me), and all the other gals in front of me were like, "Oh, honey, you've got priority here, you go ahead!" and let her cut all 6 or 7 of them. I just stood there like, "Hello?!" I guess it's just not very obvious with me (I think I carry more like a long watermelon, growing up more than out whereas she's a tiny thing, so she's packin' a cantelope under her shirt) so no one paid me any heed.... :-( Oh well. My district knew already, so they've been treating me well (not that I want special treatment--I just don't want anyone else to have it!)
