Today, we took Jeremiah to the National Portrait Gallery in NW DC, in an attempt to give him a little culture....
....pop culture, that is. Yes, our main motivation for the trip was to get a picture of Stephen Colbert's portrait, hanging just outside the hall of Presidents (which we did walk through and got a few shots of as well.)
We weren't the only couple to do so, though... At least 10 other people came for the exact same reason. One guy told us that he's lived in DC 6 years, and had never been there before--until today, and only to see Colbert's portrait. :) Yes, a bit sad, but like I said, we did go through some of the other exhibits, which had some neat portraits in them as well.
I was disappointed to find out that the portrait was really just a digital print on canvas... Maybe I can get my Mom to paint a "real" portrait for him. We'll see.

Yes, we found these more interesting than the completed pieces. :)
All in all, it was a nice trip downtown, though I would have liked to do a bit more. We didn't get to go anywhere else, but that's alright. Maybe next time when we have more time.

There's a good-lookin' family! Nice pics.
