Ever since the "Great Dads" seminar, Jeremy's been playing the local Christian radio station, 91.9 WGTS in his room instead of replacing the batteries in his mobile. Well, everyday weekday morning, they have the "Family Name Game" where they look for someone with a son or daughter of the name they're looking for.
So today, I was putting Jeremiah down for his nap, and they said they were going to play "The Family Name Game" and in my mind, I was thinking, "Jeremiah! Jeremiah!" and then they said, "We're looking for a Jeremiah!" (I found out afterwards that they list the names on their website ahead of time, so you can be waiting for your child's name, but I didn't know that! So, yeah, totally a God thing--I had just been thinking about how awesome my birthday will be this year because I have Jeremy and Jeremiah, and how great they are, and then, boom, "call us and brag about your son!" God's so cool how he throws those little things in there like that...)
I called right away and got through and was able to brag about my boy!
Just heard it now, and they had the most appropriate background music---Munah Munah. Also kinda weird, because my ringtone for my brother Jason is Munah Munah... He never calls me, but today he did (he thought my birthday was today) so I'd just heard that song an hour beforehand. Weird...
That was fun. :-)
You can submit your own child's name, too. Layton, I dare you to submit Egbert. :-)

I just might have to!! A Christian radio station wouldn't make fun of that name, right? ha ha....my poor child is going to be haunted by his/her pre-birth nickname!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry I missed you on the radio. That so fun though! God is GREAT :)
Ha what a coincidence, lucky you! Seems my luck has rubbed of on you! See that?: fate and destiny do have odd ways of brightneing your day. I wonder if they (the radio station) go by alphabet or is it just random names they call out from this website they have the names listed? Whatever they do, that is really nifty. Anyways, Happy Bday!!!!
ReplyDeleteI think listeners can submit their kids' names, and then they do it based on those names. They could, theoretically, do it in order received, but who knows what they really do.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a God thing. Too random to just happen. :-)
I think you'd be safe, Layton. Though it might be kinda embarrassing for them if you're the only one with an "Egbert" and you're not listening when they ask for it....
ReplyDelete"We're looking for an Egbert! If you or a friend/family member has an Egbert for a son, please call know and tell us about him."
"We're still looking for an Egbert..."
"Has anyone ever run into an Egbert...?"
"Has anyone even heard the name Egbert before? Give us a call, we'd like to hear about it!"
"Oh, nevermind...." :-)
