This has been an interesting week. Got a call from one of our expecting friends, and they were at the hospital, getting ready to have their baby on Tuesday! I went to the hospital to see 'em, and there wasn't a whole lot of action going on until about 7:30. That's when the dr's and nurses said, "It's baby time!". The proud papa requested that I video tape the event for 'em, so he could focus on his laboring wife.
I hafta say, I've seen a lot of "A Baby Story" and heard a lot of "baby stories", but this gal had one of the quickest deliveries I'd ever seen. I think she pushed for all of 20 minutes! It was amazing! So at 8pm 1/17/06, little Cody was born, 6 lbs 1 oz, 18/5 inches long with a head full of red hair! What a cutie. To be honest, I wasn't expecting to be there when the baby was born; we thought for sure it'd be late late late that night or early early early the next morning, but we were all surprised! I guess he'd had enough and wanted out.
Needless to say, it was a very special time... I enjoyed being a part of it. And I'd like to say it helped curb my enthusiasm about US having a baby soon.... but it didn't. I think having all these babies around is just gonna make things worse. Oh well. "All in God's perfect timing..." or something. :-) Tee hee!
Anywhoo, anyone want a black and white cat? He's very sweet... He likes to nuzzle, and curl up on your lap/chest when you're sitting on the couch... and paw at the covers so you'll let him under the blankets when you're trying to sleep.... and eat your plants and then puke 'em up on your carpet, or coffee table (yes, the freakin' coffee table...) And, if you're lucky, he'll use any sort of wicker furniture or big enough plants as a scratching post, ignore you when you tell him to get down off of something, and beg at your feet anytime you're cutting up chicken, fish, or ham, cooked or uncooked. Then he'll just look up at you with that face that has "stooooopid" written all over it and meow, 'cause meowing makes things all better.
Any takers? No? No one... Sigh. ;-)
