Weirdness...

Today begins as a strange day for me (and Jeremy)... Today, I awoke at 7 am. Yes, that's right... 7 freakin' AM! Okay, well, I woke at 7 am to turn off the alarm, and snoozed 'til 7:10. But then, I again awoke! Alright, again it was to turn off the alarm and snooze 'til 7:20. This time, though, when the alarm went off, I got up! And turned off the alarm, snoozing 'til 7:30. Once again, the alarm sounded, causing me to leave the paradise I was dreaming about (actually, I think I was dreaming about talking animals? Or maybe another adventure dream, where I was the "wife" of some psuedo terrorist who looked an awful lot like Gene Simmons--very scary, indeed... Perhaps it really was a dream of paradise, a paradise filled with exotic fruits, plants, and sans Big Fella... Ah yes, that would be a dream I would enjoy... But alas...) For the final time I turned off the whining alarm, and allowed myself to drift for a few minutes, mustering up the energy to actually do the necessary deed to officially start the day---sitting up and getting out of bed.

I finally did so at 7:36, and proceeded to get ready for the day ahead of me. I had to be out the door at 7:45 to pick up my brothers from the metro (James, 17, is joining Paige and me on an adventure trip to the Big Apple this evening! Stephin, 12 [just 2 months from 13... scary] is hanging out with his favorite brother in law this weekend, probably spending his free time playing video games... and more video games... and more games... in between which he'll probably chase Big Fella around the house. Good for him!)

Upon arriving at the Clarendon Station (1 block from our apartment building), I called my Dad to find out where the sweet youngin's were. Well, he'd dropped them off at Vienna/Fairfax about 10 min. prior. Opps. Needless to say, the only remnents that remained of my dear brothers by the time I got there were the Scion ski caps they had autographed by the Redskins Cheerleaders at the DC Auto Show the day before. Surprisingly, though, they survived, and we were back on the train to my house!

I think they've forgiven me... I made them breakfast consisting of a healthy, well-balanced meal--scrambled eggs with cholula and feta cheese (the boys didn't like the feta... they thought it tasted like puke... whatever), reduced fat bacon (I still can't tell what kind of meat it's from... too juicy to be turkey... but too reduced fat to be pork... I dunno.. the ingredients just listed what it was cured with. Well, whatever it was, it was yummy!) and hungry jack pancakes (Jeremy's favorite... since trying to eat more healthy, these have been absent from his diet, replaced instead with oatmeal and black coffee... So it was a lovely treat for him!) They were good, though, finishing their meal with a piece of fresh fruit.

All was lost once Stephin started eating the hot chocolate mix directly from the package... yuck.

Okay, I guess the day wasn't THAT weird, but it IS still early (for me at least... and all the parents with kids are saying, "Ha! You just wait!" I know it!) The scary part, that I'm not looking forward to will come along at 10:30 when we clean out the car in preparation for our trip.... Duhn Duhn Duuuhhhhhnn!

For some goodie crazy goodness, check this out! It's a hollaback to the good ole days when I was young and innocent, Mario reigned king of all video games, and Mike Tyson's boxers drank soda pop.... Here it be!
