Oh yeah, forgot...

We had a bit of an interesting drive up to Pittsburgh.

Driving along the highway, nothing exciting happening, just putt putt puttering along. We had hit a bit of traffic, but it had thinned by the time it got dark.

Seemed like all the Sunday drivers were out that night, as we kept getting stuck behind these slow pokes. Frustrated by the delay, we moved into the "passing lane" (also known as the "fast lane"). Next thing we know, the guy in front of us is swerving out the way. First thing we think is, "What is he, drunk?!" Then we see why: headlights, coming right at us. Jeremy swerved, missing the other car by a few feet, maybe (luckily, no one was in the "travelling lane", also known as the "slow lane".) I looked behind us to see the car continuing on it's path, as other cars swerved to get out of his way! From what I could see, they didn't slow down, or even try to get out of the lane.

Keep in mind, this was a split highway, with a grass median in between East and West-bound traffic. While I could understand losing control and jumping the median, I find it highly unlikely that a car would maintain speed, while driving straight on in the left lane, instead of speeding across both lanes, and landing on the other side. But, I'll probably never know.

We called 911, only to be told they had received numerous calls that night, already, for the same incident. Well, hopefully the police were able to make it there quickly, and no one was hurt.

Good times, huh?

Oh my goodness!! That must have been terrifying. I am SO glad you all are ok. Praise God! I hope that guy didn't hurt anyone else either.

That happened to Chris and I too one night a while ago now. Except, it was on Route 177 or whatever its called. We were coming home from visitng Jakob's "Fa-Fa" and like your situation the car was speeding in the wrong direction. I happened to be driving so, thank to my quick witts and reflexes I smoothly swerved out of his way. The person ended up skidding onto the median strip and the car stopped. Through it all Jakob did not even wake up, he was sound asleep. Good thing I have such a sweet connection with Fate and Luck or else who knows what would have happened. Glad to hear everyone is okay. Post some more pictures of Jeremiah!

Yeah, it happened in high school, too only it didn't end so well for them. I forgot the gal's name, but I remember getting the day off after she was killed, and then again for the funeral. Stupid drunk drivin' down 24 (I think).

Anyways, yeah, I hope no one was hurt, and definitely thank God for sending His angels to keep us safe! (Jeremy credits his quick manuevering to his video gaming skills. lol I guess playing Need For Speed and Forza do make you a better driver!)

Will get pics up once I find either the cord for my camera, or a card reader.

Diana Cruz. Sad fate indeed. I remember that day as clear as if it was yesterday. Nobody was at school because, everyone was lame and took the day off even though only imediate friends and family were suppose to. It was me, Harmony and I think Denise plus a large handful of students walking around just doing whatever we wanted for the entire day. It was weird..I swear I saw a few tumbleweeds rolling down the hallways. Sad event that created it but still, the school system totally dropped the ball on that one. Good thing that came out of it was that her mother gave a speech in the Auditorium about Drunk Driving and I think it had a really deafening effect on everyone because, well it was a classmate. I recall she had 'Candle In The Wind' by Elton John playing in the background--really emotional. Anyways, I need to toddle off for the night. I will keep checking to see if you put pics on here. Those darn cameras--I tell you. -huff-

Oh yeah, Diana Cruz... Hey, I was there walking around, too! Sheesh. Eventually, they sent everyone home, because it wasn't worth continuing the school day when so many students were upset about it.
