But, the good news is that they did try to feed her today. Gave her some breastmilk (what little I could come up with) and she did suck it down. So as long as the whole breathing issue resolves itself (which it should) and she starts eating well, she should be ready to come home in a day or two. YAY!! I'd LOVE to be able to bring her home tomorrow! But if we have to wait 'til Sunday (hopefully morning....) I guess I'd be okay with that. Well, not really, but there doesn't seem to be any reason for her to be there beyond Sunday, so yeah... the day she comes home, we'll be having a BIG birthday party for her! I can't wait.... I've got her little "coming home" outfit picked out and ready to go... Oh, Lord, please, just another day... Please please please!!!
So here are a few shots from today--neato visor, huh? At least more and more stuff continues to come off of her, so she actually had a free hand we could hold, and heard her cry--they even let me change her diaper!

She looks like a total rock star. Bono would be SUPER jealous of the glasses. GREAT news! Sunday will be a VERY happy day.
ReplyDeleteLike father, like daughter! Jeremy had to go under the lights too. He recovered just fine as I'm sure Jess Jr. will. You can be confident she'll be released when they know she's out of any danger.

Awesome. She is clearing all those hurtles like a champion. She will be home before you know it. Thoughts and wishes are with you. Can't wait to see pictures of the birthday bash you have planned.
ReplyDeleteWill the party include naming her? =}?
I know, I know. I am relentless. What can I say?
I think I like Violet too by the by. But, I like Emily better because then you can call her 'Emma' or 'Em' for short. How cute is that..come on you know it is. =D!
lol, Jeremy's got a cousin named "Emily" with the same birthday as "Jess Jr". Must be something about Sept 10th.
ReplyDeleteWe will be naming her during the "birthday bash". We've pretty much got a name picked out, but are saving it for when she comes home... That's when she'll actually feel like "ours" again.
So yeah, just keep checkin', it'll be here. :)
I just hope this is all over soon. I never wanna have to deal with this again!
It has been tough, but I know they are all doing their best at the NICU to make sure our baby is good to go and out of danger.
ReplyDeleteAs a realist (or what Jess likes to call a pessimist), I will be glad when she is ready to come home. I am always thinking longest term and hoping for improvements that cut that time down... so we will see how things progress over the next couple of days and reassess.
